2017 Women's March in Los Angeles

2017 Women’s March in Los Angeles

US Celebrity Blog would be amiss if it didn’t acknowledge celebrities who have shown their true colors during the recent Women’s Marches in Washington D.C. and throughout the United States.

We all know that it takes a lot to become recognized as an artist, but the rewards of this recognition can come with both, fame and fortune. Not every artist – or a celebrity – uses fame well. (Some turn it into notoriety.) But there is a huge group of entertainment industry’s rich and famous that has made us proud to be their fans during the Women’s Marches in the United States on Saturday January 21st 2017. All of them deserve to be acknowledged and thanked for supporting what’s right for us, our Country and its future.

There is no way to list all of the participating celebrities so excuse us please if we didn’t give you proper credit. Among the celebrities who stood up for American values are:

Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Blake Lively, Alicia Keys, Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Mandy Moore, Jane Fonda, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Emma Watson, Drew Barrymore, Amy Schumer, Ashley Judd, Felicity Huffman, Idina Menzel, Zendaya, Gillian Anderson, Helen Mirren, America Ferrera, Katy Perry, Scarlett Johansson, Cher, Jessica Chastain, Katie Holmes, Rihanna, Jamie Lee Curtis, Whoopi Goldberg, Yoko Ono, Cynthia Nixon, Rosie Perez, Mindy Kaling, Bella Thorne, Uzo Aduba, Emily Ratajkowski, Elizabeth Gillies, Amber Tamblyn, Janet Mock, Lena Dunham, Melissa Harris-Perry, Diane Guerrero, David Beckman, Charlie Brotman, Suki Waterhouse, Sir Ian McKellan, Rita Ora and others. (That’s not counting Chelsea Handler, Maria Bello and Charlize Theron who led a march in Sundance, Utah.)

There are some celebrities who have done their part in advance (think Meryl Streep!) and some who couldn’t participate due to other commitments but have nevertheless expressed their support (i.e. Bruce Springsteen and Kim Kardashian).

In addition to the entertainment industry’s celebrities there were real-life legends standing up for what’s right. Some of them were: Angela Davis, Gloria Steinem and Michael Moore. All of them made us proud to be American!

US Celebrity Blog thanks each and every celebrity who publicly took a stand for our values: women rights, human rights, social justice, immigrant rights, affordable healthcare, LGBT and transgender rights and many other issues dear to us which are threatened by the new administration.

We, the Americans who understand what’s at stake sincerely appreciate your support. The rest of us – I’m referring to the prodigal children, of course! – will thank you too: sooner or later.
