Stylish Gwen Stefani: about the artist and fashion designer Gwen Stefani. Gwen Stefani video and interview on US Celebrity Blog.

Gwen Stefani is a Libra, which explains her creativity, love of performing and unique sense of style. She was born on October 3, 1969 in Fullerton, CA. Her father is Italian and her mom is of Scottish / Irish descent. Gwen has three siblings.
Gwen’s brother Eric created the band No Doubt, she was only a teenager at the time and a backup singer. When the band’s original lead singer John Spence took his own life, Gwen became the lead singer of the band.

No Doubt with Gwen at the helm produced a number of memorable hits: Don’t Speak (1996); Just a Girl (1995); Hey Baby (2001) and Hella Good (2002) . (While with the band Gwen dated the band’s guitarist Tony Kanal for seven years.) Eventually, Gwen became ready to embark on a solo career. (She has also met – and fell in love with – English rocker, actor and composer Gavin Rossdale whom she has married in London in 2002).  Reminiscing of her announcement to the band – about her wish to go solo – Gwen said: “They are my best friends, so when I told them that I wanted to try something solo they responded in the way that best friends do. It was a matter of timing. We’ve all been growing up and our priorities have changed. Then I went and got married and my priorities certainly changed.” (The mutually-supportive relationship with the band continues and produces occasional collaborations.)

Her 2004 debut solo album Love.Angel.Music.Baby. (L.A.M.B) confirmed Gwen’s star power. Her rare ability to blend seemingly unrelated styles of music (from pop, hip hop, New Wave, electro and Broadway’s musical) into harmonious compositions was embraced by her fans.
“Hollaback Girl” reached number one in the US and Australia. (Her “Rich Girl” has also gained remarkable popularity.) Gwen was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2005 Grammy Awards and in 2006 she received five nominations including Album of the Year.
Her second solo album The Sweet Escape – collaborations with Tony Kanal from No Doubt, the Neptunes and featuring Akon – was released in late 2006.  It didn’t quite measure up to the success of her debut album but the title track has made its way into the charts.

Gwen Stefani’s artistic accomplishments include two Grammy Awards for “Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocal” in 2002 (“Hey Baby”) and 2003 (“Underneath It All”) which she’s earned as a part of No Doubt. As a solo artists, Gwen won two MTV Video Music Awards in 2005: for Best Choreography for “Hollaback Girl” and for Best Art Direction for “What You Waiting For?” Stefani won all four nominations that she received at the Teen Choice Awards, among them: Choice Breakout, Best Female Video, and Choice Collaboration for “Rich Girl”. In 2005 Gwen Stefanie was named the World’s Best New Female Artist at the World Music Awards back in 2005. Last but not least, she received six Grammy Awards nominations as a solo artist.

As if her musical success wasn’t enough, Gwen Stefani – considered a fashion icon for her ability to combine thrift store finds with designers’ duds into memorable outfits – launched her own clothing line, naming it after her first solo album, the L.A.M.B. Her line became an instant hit with celebrities; to make her fashions more affordable to her fans Gwen followed it with a second line Harajuku Lovers – focused on lower priced accessories – shortly thereafter.
Gwen tried her hand at acting as well making her film debut in Martin Scorcese’s biography of Howard Hughes, The Aviator; she was cast as Jean Harlow.
Beautiful, famous and successful, Gwen has been listed among “102 Sexiest Women in the World” by Stuff magazine (2002) and voted one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People (2004), to name just two of the distinctions.

Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale share their time between residences in London and in California. They have two children. Gwen’s said once: “I have a dream about spending time in my house with my kids. Being a mom was all I ever dreamed about. Now that it’s come true it makes me feel like my life has come together. Nothing else matters.”
For a while it seemed that she was taking time to live this dream however just days ago Tom Dumont of New Doubt announced that the group and Gwen Stefani are currently recording their first album together in 10 years which will feature 10 brand new songs………

Gwen Stefani, a prolific artist, an interesting person, a beautiful woman,  wife and a mom is  going strong and sure to surprise us with her versatile musical style and always changing image, again. To your continuing success Gwen!
